Have you ever gone to a carpet shop and picked out something that you thought would look great, only to get home and realise it doesn’t? It’s a common complaint. It seems that the way a carpet looks in one place can dramatically change in another. Now, we know that the colour of the carpet doesn’t actually change, but the lighting in a room can change our perception of colour making the carpet look lighter or darker.
Another thing to keep in mind is that during use, press pressure on carpet pile causes the pile to lie in different directions creating the effect of ?shading?. This shading is a characteristic of cut-pile carpets (particularly solid colour). While affecting appearance, it has no detrimental effect on the performance of the carpet.
We think this is really inconvenient and means you have to make more trips than you would like, that’s why we think it’s important to have a mobile showroom that allows you to see the carpet sample in your own home without having to go back and forth from shop to home. That way you can really get a good look at how the carpet will look once it’s installed. It’s an easier way to make sure you make the right choice!
